Faith That Guides Our Calling

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Saturday, December 26, 2009, In : Leadership

I hope that you can agree with me that from the bible, your conscience has been trained to believe that “without faith it is impossible to please God!”  For many of you, young men and women, the question remains, “How do I show my God, my faith?”  In order to “show” God that you are trusting Him exclusively, you must, in the first place, “learn” what you are being called to do for God.  I remind you at the outset of this discussion, that we do not “do stuff” to “earn” ...

Prayers that Move the Heart of God

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, In : Prayer

In our current excruciatingly difficult waiting process, we know in our heart of hearts this  intense stretching and excruciatingly long waiting process has been eternally and carefully measured by our Maker and Savior to arrange the perfect meeting of His grace to our desperately needy situation.  This truth of God's sovereign control of all things pertains to all men.  But God wants us to cry out and ask Him to move in our lives no matter who we are and no matter what we have done.

The Beauty of Jesus!

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, In : Christ Jesus

What if you were deprived for many years of the possession of your Bible?  What if you were living in a land where all ownership of bibles were outlawed?  What if you were not allowed to mention the name of “Jesus” as your Lord and Savior publicly?  Your love for Jesus will either come to the surface, or you will realize that your attachment to Christ is only superficial.  Throughout the history of the Church, various hardships and persecutions have plagued God's people, even today many o...

Moving Forward

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, In : Suffering for Christ

One of the best animated movies I have ever seen is “Meet The Robinsons”.  The clear lesson it seeks to teach to our kids and us is the very valuable principle of perseverance.  To face our failures honestly and then with much grit and with a very firm faith we move forward to take hold of our the goal set before in our calling.

By gaining a firm grip on God-ordained learning experiences we have earned in our effort to determine the good, the acceptable, and the perfect will of God, we...

Where did Jesus Christ Come From?

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Monday, December 14, 2009, In : Theology

Was Jesus truly born naturally of a real human woman?  Did He have a natural father?  Did He really exist as a man or did He just appear as a man, in a spiritual form of a man? Did Jesus Christ have a beginning? Was He ever less then Eternal God?  How was He conceived inside of a women and at the same time not made of the stuff of sinful man?  Was Jesus mitigated in any way with anything less then perfect holiness in His Incarnation?

We must emphatically state that Jesus Christ was indeed ...

"Into Your Hands"

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Thursday, December 10, 2009, In : Christ Jesus

Soul piercing agony.  Flesh withering sorrow of heart.  Gut wrenching desertion of close friends.  Horribly brutal physical torture.  Foes spitting in your face.  Mocking and rueing of sinful mortals.  Scorn measured by the disrespectful tearing of clumps of hair from your once glorious beard.  Loneliness.  False accusations.  Charge of “blasphemer” though a lie never passed through your lips.  A very public and indignant humiliation of being labeled a criminal.  Abandonment of your belov...

The Amazing Christ

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Thursday, December 10, 2009, In : Christ Jesus

Lest we ever forget, the power of any ministry is the glorious touch of Jesus Christ!  His amazing message animates all true gospel work wrought by His grace.  If we try to build our ministries on any other foundation but that which has already been laid by Christ and His apostolic leaders, then our work will not meet with true success and our preaching and our discipling of His sheep will not be touched by His power, to see real positive change in the shipwrecked lives that surround all of u...

The Modern Day Prophet

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, In : Prophetic Teaching

As a man who has been labeled a prophet by some and a radical preacher by others and delusional false prophet by many, I have been for quite some time desiring to explain what I believe to be the nature and function of “the modern day prophet”.  Many modern day preachers of the gospel who are calling God's people to repent and turn back to the old paths, the truth of God's law.  They call attention to the ancient landmarks of our apostolic forefathers, as prophets, they call men to do som...

This is Personal!

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, In : Suffering for Christ

Have you ever heard someone say, this isn't personal, just business!”?  This they say just before they cheat out of something really great.  Does that comment make you feel any better when you wake up on the short end of the deal?  I can remember hearing this just before I was screwed out of making a good return on a very hard investment, it would have led me to earn millions of dollars.

Have you ever heard anybody say to you, “this isn't personal, just church!”?  Most church folk w...

You He Made Alive!

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Monday, December 7, 2009, In : Salvation

Fellow christian, we will never die!  Those of us who have taken the Lord at His word and have “come to Him by faith” by doing so, have found refuge and rest for our weary and once-dead souls.  You are now ALIVE from the grave, never to return, once for all delivered from death!  We were, and many still are, very much in darkness, but now we are sons and daughters in the marvelous light of God's abiding kingdom.  We have been translated from the realm of death and eternal torment and have...

Life From The Dead!

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Friday, December 4, 2009, In : Faith

A dark mist hangs over our drooping heads.  The times seem so filled with great stress as swords clash in the heights.  Darkness presses its heavy weight of fear, tyranny, and control down on those of us who have been designated keepers of earth realm.  The spirit realm continues to operate as normal, certain men rise to power and others die in obscurity.  Wars wage, nations rise and fall, and the spirits of the air keep score.  The old-line battles wage as familiar adversaries face each othe...

Your Day of Adversity!

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Thursday, December 3, 2009, In : Spiritual Warfare

Adversity is God's remedy for a sin sick soul.  Adversity trains us in righteousness.  Adversity is God's weapon to chasten the natural man still trying to rest control of our spiritually fervent walk with His Son.  Adversity makes us look up and moves us to cry out to heaven for guidance.  Obedience to God's adversity, illuminates His light within us so we shine brighter and brighter.   Without adversity we will not become the soldiers that we must be in order to win the war we are guarantee...

Change

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Thursday, December 3, 2009, In : Social Issues

We have come to a time and a place in human history where the word “change” has  been highjacked by the weakest of men and the most tired of institutions, so much so, that the word “change” means everything and anything but to inspire the real change we all need in our times.  Offering “change” doesn't always mean a turn toward the improvement of our quality of life, though portrayed as such, and yet, never delivering the promised lasting impact it first offered us.

In a very str...

A Church for Spiritual Babies

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Thursday, December 3, 2009, In : Church Matters

When the Lord opens our eyes to the spiritual climate in our land, it will seem like we are opening them for the first time.  The Lord is going to prepare a new generation of people that will “walk” in faith more then in any generation that I have witnessed in my lifetime.  The rising generation will be framed in the works of a living faith.  They will be a people who seek the Lord with their heart and all of their humanity.  They will place His Kingdom first in their pursuits.  In this n...

Adversity - Are you ready?

Posted by Jonathan Keener on Thursday, December 3, 2009, In : Spiritual Warfare

In Psalm 91:14-16 we have a beautiful account of God's faithfulness to protect a saint and lover of His Being that has made the Lord of Heaven is love and refuge.  The Lord, even at the latest hour is able to save those who have put their trust in Him.  Let's read the words of these verses with great care, “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My Name.  He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him...
